About No Age

Formed in 2005 from the ashes of the short-lived US noise rockers Wives, this Los Angeles, California-based duo comprises Randy Randall (guitar) and Dean Allen Spunt (drums/vocals). In March, they took the unusual (in a digital age) step of releasing five limited edition vinyl-only EPs on five different labels. Although there were traces of the punky thrash of Wives in tracks such as "Boy Void" and "Everybody's Down", the duo also indicated a new-found willingness to experiment with mood and texture, notably on the Eno-styled instrumentals "I Wanna Sleep" and "Escarpment". Highlights from the EPs were later compiled on the FatCat release Weirdo Rippers. Randall and Spunt's full-length debut Nouns was released on Seattle's hip independent label Sub Pop Records in summer 2008. While the album saw the duo delving further into ambient lo-fi, it was notable that only two of the tracks broke the three-minute mark. DISCOGRAPHY: Nouns (Sub Pop 2008)***.
